Su postura marc\u00f3 la pauta para muchos otros. Desde aquel primer contrato de SYSCO, UNFI, Tony&#8217;s Fine Foods, VISTAR, US Foods y Performance Food Group han firmado contratos con el Local 853 de los Teamsters.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Por eso, cuando estos 853 miembros llegaron a su primer contrato desde COVID, estaban dispuestos a batir otro r\u00e9cord, un r\u00e9cord acorde con su lugar en la historia sindical del \u00c1rea de la Bah\u00eda.  <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Su primer paso fue el compromiso como grupo unificado. As\u00ed que los locales 853, 137 y 533 de Teamsters se unieron, bajo la direcci\u00f3n de la Hermandad Internacional de Teamsters, para conseguir el primer contrato regional que abarcar\u00eda a los tres locales. Se trata de una situaci\u00f3n en la que todos ganan. Para los Teamsters, cuanto mayor sea nuestro n\u00famero, m\u00e1s influencia y autoridad tendremos para conseguir mejoras para nuestros miembros. SYSCO tambi\u00e9n gana, al tener un solo grupo con el que negociar, reduciendo as\u00ed los posibles trastornos de tres complejos contratos sindicales que trabajan por separado para conseguir tres contratos distintos.    <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Los puntos conflictivos<\/h3>\n\n<p>Hubo muchos puntos conflictivos en el camino. La seguridad laboral fue una cuesti\u00f3n primordial identificada durante las negociaciones que estuvo a punto de hacer descarrilar el contrato. El contrato regional m\u00e1s rico y el primero del pa\u00eds. Todo porque este grupo pionero llev\u00f3 a la empresa al l\u00edmite, confi\u00f3 en sus reivindicaciones y se mantuvo unido para conseguirlo.   <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;Estoy muy orgulloso de lo que los Teamsters de SYSCO han conseguido con este contrato&#8221;, dijo el Vicepresidente y Agente Comercial de los Teamsters, Ray Torres. &#8220;Me sent\u00ed honrado de estar hombro con hombro con estos miembros durante este contrato pionero&#8221;. &#8220;Espero que estos miembros reconozcan plenamente la unidad, la determinaci\u00f3n y la comunicaci\u00f3n que hicieron falta para conseguirlo&#8221;.   <\/p>\n\n<p>&#8220;Es una gran victoria para estos miembros que han visto tanto a lo largo de sus a\u00f1os de servicio&#8221;, dijo Steve Beck, Secretario-Tesorero del Local 853 de los Teamsters. &#8220;Saber que han trabajado duro por lo que quer\u00edan, que han luchado con ah\u00ednco y que han logrado su objetivo es la forma de ser de los Teamsters&#8221;. <\/p>\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">El m\u00e9rito es de todo el equipo<\/h3>\n\n<p>Gracias a los miembros de la comisi\u00f3n negociadora que mantuvieron a todos unidos. Andy Gonz\u00e1lez, Joe Silva, Reggie Knighten, Rod Melfati y Marco Ornelas.  <\/p>\n\n<p>Por \u00faltimo, GRANDES gritos a: Tom Erickson, director de la Divisi\u00f3n de Almacenes de IBT, que nos ayud\u00f3 a guiarnos a trav\u00e9s de este contrato multilocal, Russ Butler, principal responsable del Local 137 de Teamsters en Sacramento, y a Chris Fuqua, Vicepresidente del Local 533 de Teamsters en Reno, Nevada.
